Guide to Nursery Services

Thank you for sharing your most precious
gift with us. The nursery is staffed by caring
nursery employees whose goal is to
provide a loving, safe and fun environment
for your child.

Nursery Services
are available from
8:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sundays and
5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
Wednesdays for children ages
six weeks through four years.
As needed, the nursery may be
open other days and times.

What to Expect

  • In order to create the safest environment possible for our children, the following guidelines are in place:
  • Security codes will be issued only to parents & teachers of children in the early childhood wing.
  • All nursery workers will be wearing a blue name badge which identifies them as a nursery worker.
  •  Spouses and friends of parents and nursery workers, and children not in the class, should not be in the nursery wing.
  • Your child will be provided with juice (toddlers provide own cups), snack and a diaper change,
  • A nursery worker will page you if
    your child needs your attention.

If you have questions or concerns,
please notify Martha Neece, nursery
coordinator or Sabrina Williams,
Director of Children’s Ministry.

Emergency Plan
In case of an emergency in our
facility that requires evacuation, the
staff and children’s ministry team
will be responsible for moving your
child to safety outside the 23rd
Avenue exits. Please do not come
to the nursery as this will impede
traffic flow out of the wing.

When You Arrive

All children should be dropped off at the nursery welcome station located outside the nursery wing. Nursery workers will be wearing blue church nametags.

On arrival:

  • Please make a name tag for your child
  • Complete the information sign-in sheet. Include any special instructions the nursery workers need to be aware of (e.g. feeding times, comfort items).
  • A pager will be provided to you at this time, so that the nursery can contact you if necessary.
  • A form charting your child’s activities (nap, feeding, diaper changes) be available in their room upon pick-up.

Children will be divided by ages infant to one-year-old (or walking), toddlers and twos, threes and four-year-olds.

What to Bring

Parents should bring formula,
diapers, wipes and an extra set of
clothes, as well as any other items of
necessity (e.g. pacifier, special blanket). Please clearly mark your
child’s diaper bag and individually
label everything you intend to leave in the nursery

Pick up
When you arrive to pick up your child from the nursery, please allow a nursery worker to bring the child, as well as his or
her belongings, to you.

Sunday School
Nursery workers will take two through four-year-olds to their appropriate Sunday School classroom after early worship. Sunday School teachers will deliver children staying for 11a.m. worship back to the nursery wing.

Checking In
Feel free to check on your child anytime, but try to avoid letting him or her see you. Children often become upset if they think it is time to go home, only to find out it is not. To avoid this, you may wish instead to have a friend check on your child. Toddlers and three-year-olds may be viewed through the windows near The Crossing. The nursery may be viewed on
the screen outside the nursery hallway.

Illness
We love our children and want to keep them healthy. Please do not bring children who are obviously ill with fever, diarrhea, vomiting, rash or a significant cough or cold. If a child appears to be ill, the family member will be asked to take their child home from the nursery.
